SUPERCOMM Update Show Dates Shift to Fall
SUPERCOMM® owners, the United States Telecom Association (USTelecom) and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), announce the 2009 keynote schedule to include Ivan Seidenberg, Chairman and CEO, Verizon, and John Stankey, President and CEO, AT&T Operations. Seidenberg will present the opening keynote on Oct. 21 and Stankey will present on Oct. 22.
And, to coincide with the fall U.S. stimulus package spending awards in the third and fourth quarters, USTelecom and TIA, along with new management company, EXPOCOMM Events LLC, have moved the dates of SUPERCOMM from June to Oct. 21-23, 2009.
"Our goal is to have a productive and timely forum at SUPERCOMM where all of the broadband technology stakeholders are present to realize, leverage and communicate the scope, opportunity and impact that the $7B stimulus package will offer. Further, the focus on broadband technology has become critical to our future both here and abroad and it is the mission and strategic intent of SUPERCOMM to help accelerate and advance this technology," said Walter McCormick, USTelecom President.
"We are very excited by the prospect of having the caliber of Verizon and AT&T at this year's SUPERCOMM," added TIA President Grant Seiffert. "We are confident these presentations will have market-defining implications for the industry and our members and we are eager to hear how."
The keynote presentations will provide broadband technology insight and definition to the current U.S. broadband agenda as seen through the eyes of these market-leading service providers.
"Given the vital role communications companies play in delivering the power of broadband to American homes and businesses, it's fitting that SUPERCOMM 2009 will focus on being the industry's premier broadband forum," said Ivan Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon. "This will be an important opportunity to talk about the innovation and investment that will drive our industry and our country forward, while providing customers with compelling new communications services."
"After years of talk, the integration of IP-based networks, devices and applications is becoming a reality today," said John Stankey, President and CEO, AT&T Operations. "SUPERCOMM brings together carriers, equipment and device manufacturers and developers to enable a deeper and broader ecosystem for our industry. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss and advance these opportunities at SUPERCOMM in October."
SUPERCOMM 2009 (Oct. 21-23, McCormick Place, Chicago) will present a premiere broadband technology forum where industry stakeholders will gather to discuss strategic issues, new business opportunities and common concerns in bringing broadband technology into American homes and communities. From stellar keynote presentations, private-public partnership forums and discussions and leading-edge technology and standards educational sessions, SUPERCOMM 2009 will offer the exceptional benefits of a new, world-class management team.
